It doesn't look like there is an end to Zimbabwe's crisis. The opposition leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirayi has been relentlessly trying to mobilise African leaders to force Mugabe to release the election results. Its been three weeks now, and there is talk about runoff already, yet the outcome of Presidential is unknown. Speaking at an Independence gathering President Mugabe, blasted the British Prime minister, for allegedly paying Zimbabweans to betray their own country. He also blamed MDC for betraying the liberation heroes by accepting payment from the former colonial master. "Zimbabwe will never be a colony again", he said.
The rest of the civilised world has joined the Zimbabwe's opposition, demanding that Mugabe accept defeat. United States secretary of Condoleza Rice, called on African leaders to step up on the situation in Zimbabwe. In a related incidence, Zimbabwe Election Commission is conducting a recount of the parliamentary elections, as of today. South African workers unions were also on record for refusing to unload arms headed to Zimbabwe from China. The ship had to change the route to Berra corridor in Mozambique. The Zimbabwean government has embarked on military tactics seeing they lost the elections.
A lot of people have been beaten up, some are gone missing without a trace. Zimbabwe is going through the worst economics times. 80% of the population is unemployed and its inflation is the highest in the world. The ruling party prides itself for having a record of, "pondering its enemies." In the mid eighties, the ZANU PF lead government orchestrated the killing of thousands in the Southern part of Zimbabwe.
